Another explosive week of college football is in the books, and the hierarchy across the nation is already taking shape. On the latest installment of Coach’s Corner on The Executive’s View, Steve (aka Coach) breaks down his official Top 5 power rankings.

From defensive stalwarts holding the line to historic blowouts and statement comebacks, here is where the top tier of college football stands heading into the next slate of action.

5. Indiana Hoosiers

Indiana has officially established itself as the gatekeeper of college football’s elite. Right now, if any program wants to stake a claim inside the national Top 5, they have to prove they can push past the Hoosiers. They hold down the final spot on merit, setting the bar for everyone chasing them.

4. Miami Hurricanes

The Hurricanes have been ruthless out of the gate, demolishing their first two opponents by a combined score of 122 to 13. While a matchup against Wake Forest presents a stiffer tier of competition this week, Miami’s balance on both sides of the ball suggests the 'Canes have more than enough firepower to keep rolling.

3. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Notre Dame left zero doubt this past weekend, serving up a 52–0 shutout over Rice. Beyond the wordplay, the Fighting Irish looked dominant in every phase of the game. A rivalry clash against Michigan State looms next, providing an immediate test to see if that momentum carries into high-stakes conference action.

2. Georgia Bulldogs

Athens witnessed a clinic as Georgia hung 70 points on Western Kentucky. What makes the performance even more terrifying for the rest of the country is that Kirby Smart’s squad took their foot off the gas before things got completely out of hand. When a 70-point showing feels like cruise control, you belong firmly in national title contention.

1. Texas Longhorns

Coach is the first to admit his burnt orange bias, but this week, Texas earned every bit of the top spot. Erasing a 20-point deficit to knock off a loaded, highly talented Ohio State roster is the single most impressive victory of the season so far. Resiliency like that belongs at No. 1.
