Four title changes, one ugly betrayal, and a main event stolen in the messiest way possible. That’s the kind of night NXT Heatwave gave us.

This show didn’t just reshuffle champions. It reset whole divisions. Grayson Waller walked out with the NXT Championship. Kelani Jordan got her biggest win yet. Zaria became a unified champion. Myles Borne lost everything, then torched his own partnership with Tavion Heights.

By the end, the babyfaces were bruised, the heels were smiling, and NXT had a lot of explaining to do on the next episode.

The main event had all the ingredients for disaster.

Grayson Waller, Tony D’Angelo, Cruz Montana, and Zilla Fatu all brought different energy into the multi-man NXT Championship match. Tony had the bruiser presence. Montana had something to prove. Fatu brought danger every time he moved. Waller brought the one thing that mattered most in the end, timing.

He didn’t need to dominate the match. He just needed the right opening.

That opening came when the match broke down. Bodies were flying. Alliances, if you can call them that, didn’t last long. Everyone had a claim to momentum at some point, but Waller did what Waller always does best. He let everyone else create the wreckage, then stepped through it.

That’s why the win works for him.

Waller capturing the NXT Championship isn’t a heroic final shot. It’s a smirk. It’s a reminder that he doesn’t have to be the strongest or the most respected guy in the match. He just has to be the most annoying guy still standing when the referee counts three.

And now the whole brand has to deal with him as champion.

That opens up a fun road ahead. Tony D’Angelo has every reason to want payback. Zilla Fatu still feels like a monster who didn’t need to take a clean loss to stay protected. The crowd was mixed but Zilla is over and you have a build to the strap while you're grooming him for the main event roster. Cruz Montana can argue he got swallowed by the chaos. Waller, meanwhile, can brag like he beat everyone straight up.

That’s the real heat. He won gold, and he’s going to talk like he proved every doubter wrong.

Kelani Jordan turned one opening into a championship moment

Kelani Jordan’s win over Kendal Gray had a different feel. It wasn’t the loudest moment of the night, but it mattered a lot.

Gray pushed her. This wasn’t a walkover. The match had tension because both wrestlers looked close enough to grab control. Then came the exposed turnbuckle, and that one mistake changed everything.

Kelani capitalized fast. She hit her signature split-legged moonsault and secured the NXT Women’s Championship.

That finish gives her title win a sharper edge. It wasn’t pure luck, but it wasn’t squeaky clean either. She saw the opening and took it. Champions do that.

For Kelani, the title win should be treated as a launch point. She’s athletic, dynamic, and easy to build around if NXT gives her strong challengers right away. For Kendal Gray, the exposed turnbuckle gives her a clean reason to keep chasing. She didn’t just get beat. She got caught in a bad spot and paid for it.

That’s the kind of finish that keeps both people alive.

Kelani leaves with the title. Kendal leaves with a complaint. The division leaves with a new top name.

Zaria unified gold and left no room for debate

Zaria’s triple threat win over Wren Sinclair and Kali Armstrong gave the women’s division another major shift.

This wasn’t a slow title unification match built around one grand closing stretch. It was fast from the jump. Triple threats always reward wrestlers who can react under pressure, and Zaria handled the pace better than everyone else.

By the end, she walked away as the undisputed double champion, unifying the NXT Women’s North American Championship and the WWE Women’s Speed Championship.

That’s a big statement.

Unification matches can feel like housekeeping if they’re not booked with weight. This one worked because it made Zaria look like the clear center of the picture. Sinclair and Armstrong both had chances to steal it, which kept the match alive, but Zaria got the final word.

Now she’s not just holding gold. She’s holding a combined symbol of status.

The next step is simple. NXT needs to make her feel hunted. If she’s the double champion, everyone should want a piece of her. Speed specialists. Power wrestlers. Former champions. Rising names who need one big win. Zaria’s reign has instant stakes if the division treats her like the mountain.

Myles Borne lost everything before turning on Tavion Heights

Myles Borne had the worst night of anyone on the card.

He started with the NXT Tag Team Championship on the line alongside Tavion Heights. The Vanity Project, Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes, didn’t just beat them. They took advantage of a ringside collision between Borne and Heights, then snatched the titles while their opponents were off balance.

That kind of loss stings because it leaves room for blame.

Was Tavion in the wrong place? Did Borne fail to recover? Did The Vanity Project just play it smarter? The answer can be all of the above, and that’s exactly why the story worked.

Then came Borne’s second title match.

Already damaged from the opener, with battered ribs becoming the obvious target, Borne had to defend the NXT North American Championship against Jackson Drake. Drake didn’t need a heroic performance. He needed a weak spot, and Borne’s body gave him one.

Myka Lockwood’s outside interference made it uglier. Drake capitalized, Borne folded, and another title changed hands.

That left Borne with nothing.

No tag title. No North American title. No patience left.

After the match, Borne hit Tavion Heights with Borne Again and made the turn official. No slow tease. No half-measure. He snapped, blamed his partner, and chose the heel route.

That post-match attack may end up being one of the biggest story beats coming out of the show. The title losses hurt him. The betrayal defines him.

The Vanity Project now has tag gold and a fresh wave of momentum. Jackson Drake is North American Champion with Myka Lockwood involved in his orbit. Tavion Heights has revenge sitting right in front of him. Borne has a new attitude and no excuses left.

That’s a lot of story born from one miserable night.

Jaida Parker made a statement while Natalya’s side fell apart

Jaida Parker beating Natalya in a Submission Match is the kind of win that sticks.

Not just because she beat Nattie. Because she did it with the Sharpshooter.

That’s cold.

Natalya’s signature hold became the weapon used against her, and Parker forcing the tap made the result feel bigger than a standard win. It was disrespectful in the best wrestling way. Jaida didn’t just survive a veteran. She took something personal and used it to make her point.

The chaos around ringside added another layer.

Nikkita Lyons and Thea Hail got involved in the mess, but the real fracture came when Karmen Petrovic walked away with Los Perros del Mal. That left Lyons and Natalya isolated, and it made the whole alliance around Nattie feel unstable.

That matters because faction drama gives this feud more life. Jaida’s win can push her upward, but Natalya’s side falling apart gives the story somewhere else to go too.

Karmen walking away wasn’t background noise. It was a choice. And choices like that usually come with consequences.

The big takeaway from a heel-heavy NXT Heatwave

This show belonged to opportunists.

Waller waited out the chaos and became NXT Champion. The Vanity Project took advantage of a collision and grabbed the tag belts. Jackson Drake attacked damaged ribs and got help when it mattered. Myles Borne, after losing everything, chose blame over accountability and turned on Tavion Heights.

Even Kelani Jordan’s win came from recognizing one exposed opening and ending the match before Kendal Grey could recover.

That’s the thread running through the night. The wrestlers who acted fastest won. The ones who hesitated, trusted the wrong person, or couldn’t survive the damage got left behind.

The next NXT has a lot to clean up. Waller has challengers circling. Kelani and Zaria need first challengers as champions. The Vanity Project has targets on its back. And Myles Borne versus Tavion Heights now feels personal enough to carry real heat.

That’s what a good event should do. End one chapter, then make the next one impossible to skip.
